Dear MIT Postdocs,
If you are looking for housing, there are sometimes options for postdocs on campus. Openings may occur throughout the year, in any month, but the waitlist just opened for the upcoming term (when spots are quite limited), and there will be another one in the fall for the spring term (when there are more spots available). Typically, openings are for single postdocs or couples, and not for families.
In addition, short-term/temporary on-campus housing may be available in the summer months and in the January IAP term.
Note that you will need an MIT web certificate.

The information below is adapted from information received from the Graduate Housing Assignments Coordinator. Please address any questions tograduatehousing@mit.edu

Here is some information on housing for MIT affiliates/visitors:
If you would like temporary housing until your fall assignment is ready for you to move in to (assuming that you receive an assignment from the waiting list) or to have time to look for off-campus housing you can arrange for an on-campus sublicense:
or temporary off-campus housing:
For postdocs in the fall term, there is small possibility to get an on-campus housing assignment from the waiting list. Another waitlist opens in early December, with better availability for the spring.
Here is our off-campus housing web site:
You will need an MIT web certificate to access the waiting list application, the sublicense listings, and the off-campus listings. Please contact your department to arrange for this. If you cannot get an MIT web certificate until you arrive, you can arrange for temporary off-campus housing for one week and then arrange for long-term housing when you arrive.
If you have any questions regarding any of this information please feel free to contact us.
