We invite you to participate in the New England Future Faculty Workshop (NE-FFW) which will be held virtually on Wednesday July 28th and Thursday, July 29th, 2021. The NE-FFW is designed specifically for postdoctoral fellows and advanced graduate students in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM), Health Sciences, Social Sciences, and the Humanities, who are interested in an academic career. This workshop is hosted by Northeastern University and is designed to serve those who are members of groups whose representation in faculty positions is smaller than their representation in the U.S. population. This includes women, racial and ethnic minorities, persons with disabilities, first-generation students, and members of the LGBTQ+ community.
The NE-FFW is focused on the academic job search. The format of the two-day workshop includes faculty-led interactive discussions and peer-to-peer interactions. Workshop topics include: Finding Your Institutional Fit, Perfecting Your Interview Skills, Making Your CV Stand Out, Crafting Research, Teaching and Diversity Statements, Negotiating the Job Offer, and more. To participate in the NE-FFW, there are several steps interested people need to take:
- Submit the application packet by June 1st, 2021
- Accepted applicants will be notified by mid-June
- Confirm their participation by paying a $50 registration fee due in late June
