Since MIT Postdoctoral Association announced the Fall 2012 contest for Conference Travel Grants, we have received 26 applications from all disciplines at MIT. After eligibility screening and a committee review, we are pleased to announce the four recipients of Conference Travel Grant for Fall 2012:

  1. Stephan Rudykh,  Mechanical Engineering, “Flexible multilayered composites: Experiments, Numerical and Analytical Micromechanical Models”, American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) 2012 Mechanical Engineering Congress, November 9 – 15. Houston, TX.
  2. Gabriel Juarez, Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, “Bacterial Motility at oil-water interfaces”, the 65th Annual Meeting of the American Physical Society’s Division of Fluid Dynamics, November 18-20, 2012.
  3. Daosheng Deng, Department of Chemical Engineering, “Overlimiting current and water purification in porous materials,” American Physical Society—Division of Fluid Dynamics meeting, November 18-20, 2012.

Each awardee will receive a PDA check in the amount of $400 to compensate the cost of conference traveling. Let’s congratulate and wish them a successful presentation of their research at the conference!

This program is made possible by funding from the MIT Postdoctoral Association and the Office of the Vice President for Research. A new call for Conference Travel Grant applications is currently under preparation and the PDA will soon be ready to accept online submissions. The program information will also be accessible from the PDA website  once the call opens.
