Dear fellow MIT PostDocs,

The PDA is pleased to open the call for applications to the Fall 2013 Travel Grants, covering the period from 1st September 2013 to 1st of January 2014. The deadline for online applications is October 1st 2013 and the grants will be announced by 15th October 2013.

We encourage postdoc applicants from all disciplines to participate, as per the eligibility criteria specified below:

1.     Be a current MIT post-doc

2.     Be presenting a talk or a poster at the conference

3.     Have not received a past travel grant award from the MIT PDA

4.     Not be involved in any committees of the MIT PDA

5.     Submit only a single application form

6.    All or a substantial part of the submitted work MUST have been carried out within MIT. In brief, the MIT PI should be within the list of authors.

The grants will be up to the amount of $1000 for international travel and up to $600 for domestic.

Evaluation will be based exclusively on the scientific merits and originality of the submitted works and not the overall quality of applicants. Therefore, a compelling description of the significance and impact of the presented project is particularly important.

Any conferences between the Grant announcement date and the 1st of September will be covered retrospectively, for successful contesters. Awardees will be reimbursed upon submission of applicable receipts to the Treasurer of the PDA (travel, lodging, on site transportation, food).
