Meet other postdocs and talk to our special guest; Elizabeth Stevens-Nafai, Occupational Therapist, Health & Wellness Co-Founder OT Morocco
Elizabeth will share with us her insights and experiences on the challenges and secret of her success in achieving work-life balance: Being a full time US pediatric therapist, and at the same time as a parent, and successfully fitting in the volunteer work, research and publishing.

Guest Bio:
Elizabeth Stevens-Nafai, OTR, CLT – Elizabeth Stevens-Nafai works in pediatrics, mental health, and physical rehabilitation. She works full-
time as a pediatric school-based occupational therapist in a large urban school district as part of the intake team for three year olds with disabilities. She is the current Special Interest Group chair for the Massachusetts Association of Occupational Therapy (MAOT), working to bring together occupational therapy practitioners all over the state. Elizabeth is passionate about teaching and empowering students to develop clinical reasoning skills in everyday settings. As well as being an adjunct professor in multiple New England Masters’ of OT programs, in 2016 she was honored to be a member of a vocational training team for a Rotary International grant in Marrakech, Morocco, where she trained Moroccan physical therapists in the principles of occupational therapy; specifically rudimentary lymphedema principles and vision therapy. The February 2017 OT Practice magazine contains an article that outlines this continuing volunteer project. In January of 2018 Elizabeth taught “Sensory Integration and Processing” in the National Center for People with Special Needs (CNMH) in Sale, Morocco. Elizabeth has presented at state conferences on topics ranging from adult learning to collaboration and at the 2009 and 2014 American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) Conferences on critical thinking in fieldwork and bringing occupational therapy to Morocco.
