In this month’s meeting between the PDA Executive Board and the Vice-President for Research, we discussed the results of the postdoc salary negotiations that spanned the past weeks and months. As explained in the e-mail to all MIT postdocs, the minimum salary will be increased to $69k in January and $71k in July for both Postdoc Associates and Postdoc Fellows. For postdocs whose salaries are already above the minimum and who did not get a raise in 2024, a salary increase of 3 % has been recommended to the PIs. We are grateful to have contributed to this result and going forward, the Postdoctoral Association and the VPR have agreed to revisit the discussion on postdoc salaries every year.
