Nominations are open for the 2022-2023 MIT-PDA leadership positions

Dear MIT Postdocs, The MIT Postdoctoral Association (PDA), which represents all postdocs across the institute, is looking for a new leadership team in AY 2022-2023. You are invited to apply for a position on the MIT-PDA board. Nominations are open from NOW till 15 August, while elections will be held online from 25-31 August 2022. MIT-PDA facilitates engagement of postdocs in various institute-level matters on advocacy, professional and social life of postdocs and is especially relevant in these uncertain times. If you are looking for leadership opportunities at MIT and a way to connect with and influence the 1500 strong postdocs on our campus, please consider becoming an officer for the 2022-2023 term. Previous initiatives of the MIT PDA include advocating better postdoc salary, organizing career, fundraising and mentorship events, various social events, postdoc benefits (MBTA passes), and continued representation of the postdoc community at the office of the Vice-President for Research office, MIT Ad Hoc Committees, Faculty Postdoc Advisory Committee and Committee for the search of the new MIT president. Nominations for all leadership positions are open from 4-15 August 2022. Please Click here to nominate yourself. Each candidate can contest for a maximum of 2 positions. The following positions are open for nominations:
5 Executive positions: President*, Vice-President, Treasurer, Corresponding and Recording Secretaries.
9 Chairs of Standing Committees: Advocacy, Professional Development, Community Building, and Outreach, Alumni, Fundraising, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Committee Chair, IT Committee, Orientation, and Sports. A comprehensive list of roles and responsibilities of each position is available in the MIT-PDA bylaws.

Eligibility to contest in elections:

  • *President: An MIT postdoc (associate or fellow) who must have previously served as an MIT-PDA Officer for a minimum of 60 days or have attended a minimum of one-third of all PDA monthly Meetings within a 12-month period immediately preceding the election.
  • All other positions: Open to all MIT-Postdocs (Associates and Fellows). Please feel free to reach out to us at or any of the current PDA officers for specific questions.
