BIO: Dr. Dominik Hartmann is a complexity economist and EU Marie Curie Postdoctoral Fellow at the MIT Media Lab (US) and the University of Hohenheim (Germany). Dr. Hartmann’s research on the relationships between innovation, structural change and human development has carried him to leading research institutions in countries as diverse as Germany, Spain, Peru, Brazil, England, Netherlands, Turkey and the USA. As a member of the MIT Macro Connections team, he uses interdisciplinary tools such as network analysis and complexity thinking to transform data into knowledge and enable interactive learning through online visualization tools. Recently he published a book on Economic Complexity and Human Development, in which he explores how economic diversification and social networks affect human agency and well-being.
